With extensive experience in environmental consulting, John specializes in complex surveys and ensuring compliance with the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Additionally, he ensures compliance with the Clean Water Act (CWA).
He is a permitted fish and mussel biologist, recognized for his expertise in surveying and conserving aquatic species. John has engaged in several hundred surveys for freshwater mussels and snails across 25 states. He has also performed comprehensive assessments along the entire Ohio River. These assessments include fish, macroinvertebrate, and water quality surveys. His technical expertise spans a wide range of ecological field techniques and data analyses. This expertise enables him to deliver actionable insights for complex environmental challenges.
John has a robust track record of managing multifaceted projects, from designing and implementing effective strategies and concepts to addressing regulatory challenges. He regularly collaborates with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Field Offices and state resource agencies. Together, they evaluate project impacts on state and federally listed species. Recognized as a trusted species expert, he is frequently consulted by agencies and clients to navigate the intricate regulatory landscape. He also guides projects toward environmentally responsible outcomes.
