The 2025 freshwater mussel survey season is upon us! If your project could potentially impact federal or state-listed freshwater mussels, it’s critical that surveys are completed within the applicable windows and consistent with agency protocols. EDGE malacologists can assist with project planning. This includes the design of study plans that meet agency survey protocols. In addition, we coordinate with the appropriate agency to obtain study plan approval, execute the study plan, and handle reporting. Our subject matter experts can also assist with more complex projects. Some of these may necessitate the need for more formal agency consultation. Further services include the preparation of biological assessments, relocation plans, and negotiation and execution of mitigation plans. With one of the largest scientific dive teams in the country, we have completed surveys from the Rockies to the East Coast and from Texas to New York. Therefore, we are here to help.

If your project could potentially impact federal or state-listed mussels please reach out to one of our malacologists for #furtherinsight.
