EDGE Engineering: Built on Relationships, Driven by Expertise

EDGE Engineering & Science, LLC was founded in 2010 with a clear mission: deliver high-quality environmental engineering and scientific consulting services built on relationships. The founding partners brought decades of experience to the table — and a commitment to integrity, professionalism, and respect that still defines the company today.

Within just a few years, EDGE expanded beyond its Houston headquarters, opened a second office in Baton Rouge, and grew its team to include dozens of industry experts.

A Growing Team of Environmental Specialists

EDGE continues to attract top talent that strengthens its ability to deliver the insights, knowledge, and guidance clients need.

In early 2019, Gordon Ware, P.G., joined EDGE to lead the expansion of the Investigation and Remediation practice group. Gordon brings more than 35 years of diverse technical and managerial experience. He has supervised environmental acquisition due diligence efforts, site investigations, emergency response, and remediation design and implementation projects. Gordon has consulted for several Fortune 50 corporations and holds deep expertise reviewing upstream through downstream assets.

His credentials extend beyond consulting. Governor Rick Perry appointed Gordon to the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists in 2001, and he was later re-appointed to a second term. He served as Chairman from 2007 to 2009, overseeing agency operations and state appropriations. Gordon’s ability to build lasting client relationships makes him a natural fit for EDGE’s culture.

The broader Investigation and Remediation team — including Reif Hedgcoxe, Gary Donnan, Chuck Terhune, Robin Mann, Lanre Dawodu, and Lara McAlister — brings more than 100 years of combined experience. Together, they serve the oil and gas industry’s upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors, law firms, and other industrial clients. Their expertise spans environmental due diligence, soil and groundwater investigations, and the design, installation, and maintenance of remediation systems.

Recent Projects: Results That Speak for Themselves

EDGE recently completed a remediation project at an active large truck service facility contaminated with used oil from historical operations. The team safely and efficiently removed impacted soil, cleaned affected permanent structures, and disposed of all associated waste — finishing the job under budget.

EDGE coordinated directly with the facility manager to mobilize equipment and personnel, excavate the necessary areas, transport materials safely, and ensure proper disposal of all impacted materials throughout the process.

In another recent engagement, EDGE stepped in to serve as a client’s full Environment, Health and Safety department while the client built out its own staff and organizational programs. This partnership saved the client significant time in developing environmental policies — and it reflects the kind of practical, value-driven support EDGE provides beyond traditional consulting.

What’s Next for EDGE

Several high-impact projects are already in motion. At one client’s active manufacturing and maintenance facility, the team is conducting a site assessment for potential groundwater remediation. EDGE is also preparing to execute several upstream, multi-site, and transactional due diligence projects in the near term.

EDGE is equally well-positioned for M&A work. The team excels at assessing assets and helping clients limit liability exposure during acquisitions — one of the most time-sensitive and high-stakes situations a company can face.

EDGE’s Compliance Practice remains a core strength. It works hand-in-hand with the Assessment, Remediation, and Investigation practice to broaden the firm’s expertise and deliver more comprehensive solutions for clients.

As EDGE approaches its second decade, the company continues expanding its footprint by adding specialists across diverse areas of environmental regulation. The reach is broader — but the approach hasn’t changed. EDGE stays true to its founders’ vision: relationship-based, high-quality consulting that brings real insight to every project.
